Surrogacy

Surrogacy has always been a popular choice with gay men. A surrogacy arrangement involves finding a female who is willing to donate her eggs that will be matched with your sperm or that of donor sperm and either carry the child herself or donate the embryo to a third person who would carry the child until birth. The custody of the child would then be given to the male.

Surrogacy is illegal in the UK so many gay couples choose to travel to the USA where surrogacy is legal. This can be a very costly method to become a parent as you will have to pay for the woman’s eggs and for the surrogate.

The decision to allow the child to know the identification of the surrogate and or egg donor should be decided between all of those parties as early as possible.
